  O musical Chess é um musical da dupla Benny&Björn, juntamente com Tim Rice, lançado em 1984.
  Tim Rice andava com o desejo de criar um musical relacionado com a Guerra Fria e Benny & Björn tinham também o desejo de fazer um musical. Richard Vos sugeriu a Tim Rice que trabalhasse com a dupla masculina dos ABBA. Rapidamente ele aceitou pois era um fã da banda.
15 de Dezembro de 1981, Tim foi a Estocolmo para discutir o projecto com Benny e Björn.

  The Chess musical was created by Benny&Björn duo, together with Tim Rice, released in 1984.
  Tim Rice had been with the desire to create a musical about the Cold War and Benny & Björn also had the desire to make a musical. Richard Vos suggested to Tim Rice to work with the masculine duo from ABBA. Quickly he accepted because he was a big fan of the band. 15th December 1981, Tim went to Stockholm to talk about the project with Benny and Björn.

  Inicialmente este musical seria para os ABBA mas acabou por ser um projecto fora dos ABBA. Estes três compositores trabalharam em 1983 as melodias e as letras para cada canção no musical. O álbum Chess começou a ser gravado em Novembro de 1983 em Estocolmo, onde Benny gravou algumas partes de piano. A Orquestra Sinfônica de Londres e The Ambrosian Singers gravaram em Londres.
  Os arranjos do álbum foram feitos dos estúdios da Polar Music pelo engenheiro de som dos ABBA, Michael B. Tretow.

  Initially this musical would be for ABBA but ended up being a project outside of ABBA. These three composers worked in 1983 the melodies and the lyrics to every song from the musical. The album Chess started being recorded in November of 1983 in Stockholm, where Benny recorded some piano parts. The London Symphony Orchestra and The Ambrosian Singers recorded in London.
  The arrangements on the album were made ​​in the Polar Music studios by the ABBA sound engineer, Michael B. Tretow.
