Hootenanny Singers - General Information

  Hoje falaremos um pouco sobre os Hootenanny Singers, a banda anterior aos ABBA de Björn.
  Antes dos Hootenanny Singers, a banda se chamava Westbay Singers, a banda foi formada em 1961.
  A banda tinha 4 membros: Björn Ulvaeus, Tony Roth, Johan Karlberg e Hansi Schwarz que faleceu o ano passado.

  Today we will talk a bit about Hootenanny Singers, the band before ABBA that Björn had. 
  Before Hootnanny Singers, the band was called Westbay Singers, they were formed in 1961. 
  The band had 4 members: Björn Ulvaeus, Tony Roth, Johan Karlberg and Hansi Schwarz which died last year.

  Em 1963, o grupo foi a um concurso de talentos na rádio sueca, conseguindo assim, chegar à final do respectivo concurso. Stig Andersson, futuro manager dos ABBA, acho interessante o som da banda e conseguiram contracto com a gravadora Polar Music. O primeiro álbum com a gravador foi "Hootenanny Singers".

In 1963, the group went to a Talent Contest on the swedish radio, and they could go to the final. Stig Andersson, future manager of ABBA, found the sound interesting and they achieved a contract with Polar Music. The first album with the new label was "Hootenanny Singers".

  Ao todo, a banda tem 15 álbuns, fizeram 168 espetáculos em parques no verão. A banda acabou em 1974.

  The band has over 15 albums, they did 168 performances in Summer Festivals. The band was over in 1974.
