  Hoje em WedAgnetha, trazemos um artigo de Junho de 1975, da revista Pop Foto sobre Agnetha e a sua preocupação quanto mãe famosa.

  Quando nós temos que acreditar que a loira de ABBA Agnetha, tendo uma criança e a cantar num grupo POP internacionalmente conhecido, não é exactamente uma boa combinação. "Se eu tivesse sabido que seriamos tão populares, eu tinha a certeza que não teria nenhum filho," disse Agnetha, que pensa que falha como mãe.

  Desde de que ABBA venceu o Eurovision, o ano passado com a maravilhosa canção "Waterloo", houve algumas mudanças em Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Benny e Björn. De repente eles tinham que aparecer à frente das câmaras de televisão em todo o lado, conduzir conferências de imprensa e sessões de fotos, e assim, mal têm tempo para relaxar, de volta para casa na Suécia. Isso não foi um problema para Anni-Frid e o seu marido musico, mas para Agnetha foi! Não muito tempo antes do Eurovision Song Contest no Luxemburgo que Agnetha foi mãe. E claro que ela se sentiu terrível em ter que deixar a sua pequena filha na Suécia. Os outros membros de ABBA testemunharam quanta tensão de ter uma carreira e um bebé colocado em Agnetha, e eles decidiram não começar uma família "real" por enquanto.

  "Naquele tempo estávamos, é claro, encantados por termos vencido o Eurovision," comentou Agnetha. "Mas ainda assim, para mim não podia ter vindo em pior altura. Por anos, nós andávamos a tentar ser reconhecidos na Suécia. Num certo momento, nós não vimos isso acontecendo com ABBA e nós só queríamos um bebé, como qualquer casal casado. E logo depois da nossa filha ter nascido, ABBA ficou imensamente popular na Suécia. Nós tivemos que representar o nosso país no Luxemburgo e ganhamos também! Agora eu tento dividir o meu tempo entre a minha filha e ABBA o mais que possível, mas continuo a ter a impressão que não estou a fazer o suficiente. É impossível levar um bebé contigo para todo o lado, é por isso que ele na maioria das vezes fica com a minha família quando estamos em turnê."

  Isto tudo não impediu de ABBA para gravar um magnífico novo álbum, de volta na Suécia. Esta gravação é simplesmente titulada de "ABBA" e já a ser lançada. E agora nós temos que esperar pelo seguimento do "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do".

  When we have to believe ABBA’s blonde Agnetha, having children and singing in an internationally known pop-group at the same time, isn’t exactly a good combination. “If I had known we would become so popular, I would have made sure there wouldn’t have been any children,” says Agnetha, who thinks she fails as a mother...

  Ever since ABBA won Eurovision last year with the wonderful song “Waterloo”, there have been some changes for Agnetha, Anni-frid, Benny and Björn. All of a sudden they had to appear in front of television cameras everywhere, conduct press-conferences and photo-sessions, and thus barely had the time to relax, back home in Sweden. That wasn’t a problem for Anni-frid and her musical husband, but for Agnetha it was! Not long before the Eurovision Song Contest in Luxemburg Agnetha had become a mother. And of course she felt dreadful leaving her little daughter in Sweden. The other members of ABBA have witnessed how much strain having a career and a baby put on Agnetha, and they have decided not to start a ‘real’ family for the time being.

  “At the time we were of course delighted winning Eurovision,” Agnetha comments. “But still, for me it couldn’t have come at a worse time. For years we had been trying to get recognition in Sweden. At a certain time, we didn’t see it happening for ABBA, and we just wanted a baby, like every married couple. And right after our daughter was born, ABBA became immensely popular in Sweden. We got to represent our country in Luxemburg, and won too! Now I try to divide my time between my daughter and ABBA as much as possible, but still I have the feeling I’m not doing enough. It’s impossible to take a baby with you everywhere, that’s why she mostly stays with my family when we’re on tour.”

  All this hasn’t prevented ABBA from recording a magnificent new album, back in Sweden. This record is simply titled “ABBA” and has just been released. And now we’re waiting for the follow-up to 'I do, I do, I do, I do, I do'.
