ABBA - Swedish Music Hall Of Fame

  ABBA foram a primeira banda eleita para o Swedish Hall Of Fame, onde ao todo, 12 artistas foram seleccionados. Os artistas foram apenas seccionados os que têm mais anos de carreira. Os jurados disseram porquê que seleccionaram ABBA:

"Domínio masculino e machismo são características da história da música, e na sociedade em geral. E depois vieram os ABBA - duas mulheres, dois homens - fazendo música para todos, independentemente do género, sexualidade ou idade. A pista de dança é uma área politica também, um espaço para a liberdade. Existe também uma diferença entre sucessos e sucessos. Uns permanecem poucas semanas. Depois há outros que as pessoas continuam a cantar décadas depois. A lista de sucessos dos ABBA ficam mais fortes e mais permanentes a cada ano que passa."

  Mais artistas foram selecionados, como, por exemplo, os Roxette.

  ABBA were the first band selected for the Swedish Hall Of Fame, where 12 artists were selected. The artists only selected were those who have more years of career. The jury explained why they selected ABBA:

"Male dominance and macho culture are characteristics of musical history, and of society at large. And then came ABBA – two women, two men – making music open to everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality or age. The dance floor is a political arena too, a place for liberation. There is also a difference between hits and hits. Some stay in charts for a few weeks. Then there are those that people are still singing decades later. ABBA's list of hits gets stronger and more enduring every year that passes."
